The company is pleased to advise that the C916 Station at Beauty World and Tunnels project has achieved 1,500,000 Man Hours LTI Free.
This is a very significant achievement for the project, especially considering the ongoing piling work in restricted work space areas. Despite these constraints, the safe execution of works has been managed extremely well by McConnell Dowell site personnel, and also our sub-contractors.
Over the next few months we will see commissioning of major road diversions, TBM assembly and launch, as well as completion of piling and commencement of station excavation works and tunnelling. This will result in an increased intensity of multiple activities and the need for continued vigilance by all our staff to ensure our impeccable safety record continues.
Plant and vehicle movements in and out of the site will also increase, and therefore advance planning and focus on such movements will be very important to mitigate risks, especially in the STP area and segment yard storage.
