The Company is pleased to announce that the project team at the Pinkenba Malting Plant has achieved 400,000 man hours without an LTI.
This is a significant milestone given the project involves a large number of specialised contractors working in conjunction with each other to build a state-of-the-art highly automated plant, able to produce 313 tonnes of malt per day.
The team has been managing pressurised gas systems, hazardous works areas, night works, constricted work spaces, adverse weather conditions, as well as preparations for classification as a large dangerous goods location.
By building strong relationships, with all personnel and contractors, the on-site team has worked together to achieve this milestone through:
- Education & Training;
- Introduction of S.T.A.R.T. (Stop, Think, Assess, Review, Talk) Safe Cards;
- Planning and Risk Assessment;
- Vigilance; and
- Dedication to promoting the understanding of “Home Without Harm, Everyone Everyday.”
The project has finished construction and the commissioning work is now underway.
